  2. Seismic microzoning (local seismic hazard) for densely populated areas

III.  Other activities related to scientific research and technological development:

  1. Site evaluation studies for nuclear power plants and other objectives of national importance (dams, military facilities, bridges, hospitals, schools, etc.)

  2. Real time early warning systems for industrial objectives and other units of national interests, in case of a major earthquake

  3. Evaluation of seismic hazard for hydro-energetic facilities

  4. Shake maps for strong earthquakes

  5. integration of the European standards (EC8) for seismic hazard evaluation on Romania’s territory

IV.  Data exchange and research cooperation with european and global seismological centers:

  1. Compilation of bulletins and earthquake catalogues and real time exchange with National and International seismological centers

  2.  National Seismic Network integration in European Seismic Network

  3. Global seismic monitoring in support of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT)
